The precarious order of a San Francisco private school is upended by the arrival of a mysterious new student, nicknamed The Buddha, whose unwillingness to adhere to the strict regulations of the curriculum and administration begins to trickle down to his fellow classmates. As a result, social structures and allegiances are fractured, culminating in a moment of violence that will alter the course of their lives.
